These steps include proving that they
are a real business and that the information on the certi?¬?cate, such as the location
of the business, is in fact correct. Internet Explorer 7 turns the address bar
green to help users identify EV certi?¬?cates. Once users start looking for EV certi
?¬?cates, it will be harder for major sites to be phished.
There is some criticism of the program because in might be dif?¬?cult or impossible
for some smaller sites to get EV certi?¬?cates, and therefore they might unfairly
appear to be less safe than larger businesses.
The certi?¬?cate that is used to do the signing is displayed in the
Managed Card Import page. It is important that users be able to
identify who has provided the card because once the card is
imported, users will use it to authenticate to their IP.
As shown in Figure 3-16, the Import page also shows what the
card that will be installed looks like.

Common CardSpace Management Tasks
CardSpace acts as a central location for the digital identities.
This means that along with using the identities at a variety of
RPs, a host of management tasks are necessary. Some of the
