"Microsoft ISA Server 2006 Unleashed"

These solutions offer all the advantages of the ready-built security solutions, with the
increased capabilities of ISA Server 2006. They come preinstalled, preconfigured, and
presecured, and some even include LCD panels that allow for console-less configuration of
the ISA server itself. These solutions can appeal to many organizations that are looking for
a quick and easy way to take advantage of ISA Server 2006??™s reverse-proxy (or other) capabilities.

Configuring Existing Firewalls to Utilize ISA Server
2006 Reverse Proxy
For various reasons, it may not be feasible or desired to replace an existing firewall with an
ISA server firewall. In these circumstances, the ISA server can still be utilized for reverseproxy
capabilities, and it can be deployed in the DMZ of the existing firewall.
What this effectively means is that ISA server effectively can be treated as an isolated web
server from the firewall??™s perspective. The configuration steps on the packet-filter firewall
are therefore straightforward.
