5. Select the option to make Linux your default operating system if you want your iPod
to boot up in iPodLinux instead of in the built-in Apple firmware, as the following
illustration shows. If you don??™t select this option, you must choose which firmware
to use whenever you turn on or reset your iPod. TIP
If you choose to boot your iPod in iPodLinux automatically,
you can switch back to the original Apple firmware by
resetting the iPod and then holding down the Rewind
button as the iPod boots up.

6. Click the Install button. Wait until the installation completely finishes before continuing.
7. Disconnect your iPod from your computer.
8. Reset your iPod by holding down the Menu and Play buttons for about five to
eight seconds.
Congratulations! You??™re in iPodLinux. The graphical user interface, or GUI, of
your new firmware is called podzilla after the Web browser Mozilla.
