iPodLinux on older iPods only, no newer than the third generation.
Even if absolutely everything goes wrong, a good old-fashioned restore from
iTunes will correct any problems that iPodLinux introduces. In no case does
iPodLinux harm your iPod??™s hardware, so you??™ll always be able to go back to
the original factory settings.

Before you attempt to install iPodLinux on your iPod, you want to read over
the documentation thoroughly, which you find on the project??™s Web site at
www.ipodlinux.org (see Figure 10-1). There is a good deal of it, so make
yourself comfortable, and if you begin to experience that queasy feeling
that you always used to get in algebra class, you might be better off giving
iPodLinux a skip.
