The audio cable attached to the jack is delicate, so easy does it.
7. With the audio jack unplugged, take the back the rest of the way off.
Open Your iPod Video
To open your fifth-generation iPod:
1. Turn the iPod on its side, and measure about two inches from the bottom of the unit.

2. Take your plastic tool or flat-headed screwdriver, and carefully but firmly
wedge it between the plastic front and the metal back at the position you
located in step 1.
3. Use the plastic tool or the flat-headed screwdriver as a lever to crack open
the case.
4. Carefully slide the plastic tool or the flat-headed screwdriver down the side of the
iPod to release all the clips that hold it together.
5. Gently pick up the back, but don??™t take it all the way off just yet. Notice that
there are two ribbon cables connecting the back to the logic board of the iPod
(see Figure 3-5).
6. Unplug the cables from the logic
board one at a time (see Figure 3-6).
