We mention this because many people
acquire Torx screwdrivers in a kit. Make sure your kit
comes with a T6.

This is a specialty item that you might not have on hand unless you fix cell
phones. If you??™re lucky, your local hardware store stocks them. If not, you can
find one online without too much trouble.
If you??™re repairing an iPod mini or a second-generation iPod nano, you should
round up a small Phillips-head screwdriver. This is in addition to the flatheaded
screwdriver or the plastic tools.
Also, with regards to opening the iPod mini and the second-generation iPod
nano, consider grabbing your hair dryer. You can use a heat gun if you like, but
sometimes the gun gets too hot and melts parts of the iPod??”not good. Also,
most people have hair dryers lying around, while heat guns are less common.
Now, a word of advice: A heat source isn??™t absolutely necessary here. You can
usually get away without using one, and because you can end up doing serious
damage to your iPod, you have ample reason for pause.
